screen flicker at startup/wake normal?

On my Macbook Pro, the screen seems to be flickering on startup and after waking. The flicker is very quick, from the normal desktop screen to a black screen and then normal desktop screen again; all in less than 5-10 sec.

Is this normal? (never had a LED screen before or is this an early sign of more problems to come? thanks and sorry for all the newb questions. 😱
