screen flickering

I have the Mini M4 with 2 Samsung 28" 4k displays connected from DisplayPort at the screen end to the USBs at the back of the mini.

When I'm fiddling around with cabling at the rear... the screens flicker like mad, sometimes go off and then come back on. If I'm plugging USBs into the front, I get the same problem.

Is there a way to stop this?
