I've a cover on the screen and use screen wipes for computer monitors, and have used window cleaner with no ill affects.
And considering my 4 year old has usually grubby fingers and loves playing with it, it does get cleaned quite regularly

Take care of your toys and they will be worth more when it's time to trade up.

I do, and i'm not trying to sound like a smart *** here, but realistically, i doubt a little windex on a kleenex now and then will hurt my screen. I have 2 young children, who, although they aren't allowed to play with my idevices without supervision, do still touch them and they definitely carry around all of the germs they pick up touching everything else in sight. I use a camera cloth on my stuff most of the time, but every week or so Windex it is.
I never have any trouble reselling anything, especially Apple products, as they are in perfect condition when i sell them.

I also heard if you give the iPad a good dose of penicillin it will not get a virus!

I don't understand the discussion in this thread. Why would you need to use some chemicals to clean an ipad or iphone screen ? I use just a piece of cloth or maybe a microfiber cloth and the glass would get super clean in no time.

Not even clean water is needed nor a slight damp cloth. Why would I risk getting even a tiny amount of water inside ?
