Alright, so basically, a thin line at the top and bottom of my screen go blank, as if the phone is powered off. Then I plug it into my computer and it goes back. But it's a hassle to do since I'm not at home all the time. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know a solution?

I would make an appointment with a Genius at your local Apple store.

Have you tried a restore? Saying once it's plugged in, makes it seem like a software issue, but the problem itself seems like a hardware issue.

Definitely worth a Genius appointment.
