Screen makes cracking sound when moved

--I have a 2012 macbook pro $1200 basline model--

When I first got my macbook pro, the screen was always so smooth to move back and forth, now when I move it, there is a cracking sound and it feels as if it was a bit stuck. Any suggestions?😱😕😕😕

My 2011 MBA has a creaking sound when the lid is moved, nothing to worry about.

Same things happens on my base 15" 2012 MBP. Also had that problem on my previous MacBook. Kind of annoying but as long as it doesn't cause damage 🙄

The screws on the hinges are very tight or there isn't enough lubrication there.
It is annoying but wont cause major damage in the long run (unless you have a 2008-9 model).

Yes, I had that with my 2011 Air. It was a bit annoying but didn't have an affect on the body of the Air.
