one is retina, another is regular lcd. Of course it's different, what the hell are you guys smoking exactly.

and i would never want a retina on a 27" imac, even with the highest graphic card upgrade, it will be slow as hell. Maybe in another 5 years...
Retina resolutions are not the problem. Apples GPU drivers are the problem. See also:

My question is being a photographer and using both LightRoom and PS6,
Do the new 2012 iMacs using a XRite Eye One and software, what is the color gamut? Is it still only 78% of Adobe RGB? or has it improved.
I realize Apple is not using a wide gamut display, yet when they said color looks better is this statement quantifiable?
 
Sorry bros but you're not going to see a 20+" retina display for a while. Either deal with it or get a retina MBP
