heya all,

Not super complicated -- my screen is currently set to sleep after 2 minutes -- however, it is not going to sleep.

repair permissions did not help.
batch tasks from mainmenu did not help.

reboot helped - once. then wouldn't sleep again.

Any advice?

MB C2D running 10.4.10

Thanks,

Mike

What apps are running? What devices are connected? Are we talking just about sleeping the screen or sleeping the entire machine? 🙂

details

just the screen sleeping -- computer sleeps fine.

This happens with and without apps running. (so I suspect apps are not the problem)

try moving/renaming/deleting ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
reboot
Open Energy Saver preference pane
set value on sleep time
test

renaming

file doesn't show up in preferences -- does show up through search -- renamed, but it didn't seem to take.

will reboot and see what happens.

Thanks,

Mike
