iPhone 16 Pro Max Screen partially flash vertical lines when the phone is picked up

Has anyone experienced any weird screen issues on the iPhone 16 Pro Max or any new phones?

When you pick up the phone from the desk and as the screen brightness turns up the screen flashes multicolour vertical lines for like a fraction of a second then it goes back to normal. It happens randomly and so far it has happened 3 times in the last 4 days. The lines seem to only appear in the second quarter of the screen if you divide the screen into 4 vertical quarters.

Couldn’t capture it on another camera as it happens randomly and not too often. Not sure if software or hardware issue

I don’t have this exact issue, but my 16 pro max screen has spontaneously flashed pink twice. I’m monitoring very closely, and will replace it if the problem reemerges.

I have experienced an issue on my IP6 Pro Max twice (that I caught) showing a series of vertical pink lines for just a split second on different parts of the screen. I believe each time it happened right after unlocking the phone. It’s killing me because I want to know if it’s hardware or iOS 18. For reference I am on 18.1

I think that's pretty similar to what I've seen, I'm on 18.0. Looking more likely to be hardware to me....

Yeah, I am seeing the same thing with my iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Seen it 3-4 times since launch day, and have never been able to reproduce it on demand. 😡

Yup seen this weird flashing for a split second several times on my 16 pro max since launch. I assumed it’s just the software. It has happened less in the past week. I really hope it’s not a hardware issue as I have great screen uniformity and everything else works fine.

EDIT: lots of posts on Reddit about this issue. I am suspecting some driver/software issue with the new graphics chip in A18.
