Take it to an Apple Store.

If you bought it brand new and recently from Amazon then call them up and they should exchange. They are quite nice when it comes to defective products as they realize it's their mistake.

While Amazon's customer service and return policy ARE excellent, if you are near an Apple store, it'd be faster to make a genius appointment (do this first!) and take it in to the Apple store. They usually replace defective units on the spot, with a minimum of fuss.
