I've searched far and wide through the internet and these forums. I have not found a similar situation to mind. I apologize if this is a repost.

I bought my unibody MacBook on December 29th, 2008. Just tonight when I picked up my MacBook the screen seemed to go into negative mode. I picked it up with my right hand placed in the lower right hand corner (below the arrow keys) while the screen was open. I was able to get the negative screen color to go away by moving the screen. I did some more fiddling with it and it did the same thing. Instead of moving my screen I let it be for several moment and the whole screen became flooded with white. I tried moving my screen forward or backward, but it did not help. I had to shut my screen and open it back up for it to work again. It seems it only does it when I pick it up in a way that puts a lot of pressure on the screen hinge (i.e. picking it up with on on on the far left or far right side WHILE the screen is OPEN.) I did not put my screen into negative mode either. The screen works fine normally, it is only when I pick it up. I have been using graphics card more frequently because I plug my DVI/HDMI cord into my TV and use my MacBook on my LCD TV. Future thanks to anyone who contributes to this thread!

Do you see the same on your external display when the problem occurs?

I'm going to assume NO but if YES, your logicboard is bad.

So, if the video on the external display is good. This isolates the problem to either the LVDS (Video) cable or your display.

Things to try:

1. Reset PRAM
2. Reseat your Video cable into the logicboard.
3. If still nothing, your cable or display needs to be replaced.
