Screen Protector and Skin for 15" MBA?

Unless something has changed, Apple does not recommend using a screen protector on their MacBooks. They state that doing so could damage the display.
Why would anyone need a screen protector on a laptop? I never touch my screen.
Looking for a clear skin myself. Nothing shipping on Etsy till July/August. DBrand taking pre-orders and wants $65 for full body, Decal Girl (or whatever the website name is doesn’t even show the 15” MBA as a choice) and on eBay only ones are in China (no thanks 15-20 day in transit.)

Because Apple may have a design defect. This is from 2021 MacBook Pro.
I'm hoping my MacBook Air 15" won't run into this issue. So far it's not showing any sign of it. But the first sign of it and I'll definitely slap a screen protector on the thing.
So I installed it - gonna wait to do pics for the the skins to dry out all the way, it was a wet install. Fit really good though!
Here are a couple of pics of the matte skin. Turned out great. Adds a bit of protection without bulking it up. Also fingerprints wipe off much easier and it is less prone to getting them.
It looks great! Is it a 3M adhesive skin or does it require a liquid application?
Let us know if it ships or if it is a pre order.
I pre ordered from D-Brand and they give no date when the skins are available.
If they fishskyn one is available, I'll give their version of the Palettes collection a try.

I use a screen protector on my MBA 15". Well I don't use it to protect the screen but more for privacy viewing so people can't see what I'm doing at an angle. I used them on the MacBook Pro prior to this and have always loved it. I also think it takes considerable glare away from Apple's screens which is also nice. Gives it a nice matte finish.
The screen is on in the below photo but the screen protector completely blocks viewing it from an angle.

Looks nice! Which of their matte finishes is this? I couldn't tell a difference between the three kinds.
