I keep seeing these full screen protectors and I have only used the notch cut ones. Are they just as good, can you tell in selfies that there is another layer of glass?
I recently scratched my self cam so wondering if this will be the best way to go..

I second that. Been using one since I got the 11 Pro last year. There’s no difference.

I agree as well. I don’t like the look of the ones with the notch and I’ve been using the full screen ones since the Xs and I don’t see any difference in the quality of the front facing camera.

full screen , got the ESR. I first had the belkin but had the notch cut out and left about 1 mm on the sides and the bottom of no protection. The ESR has full protection for a lot less money.

The notch cut ones look terrible and are a big reason why i never even tried one.
Look much worse than a scratch to me.
They do look crappy. And they don’t get the curve of the notch right, ever.

Alright, looks like it’s the full screen ones from now on. For some reason I have always used the notch cut outs.

I'm more concerned with FaceID performance with the full-screen protectors. I imagine the front camera will be just fine, but with all the jazz going on with FaceID, I wonder how it's affected (if at all)? Has anyone tried with/without a screen protector as far as FaceID performance is concerned to see if there's a difference. I realize you all use it and it seems to work fine, but maybe it's one of those ignorance is bliss sort of deals. Whereas if you try it without the screen protector, you realize FaceID works faster/better.

Good question, I assume these wouldn’t even be a thing if Cam or faceid was ever affected by them. If you think about it, it’s just glass but I guess you never know!

I've used edge to edge / full screen protectors for years and years. I've never once had an issue with Face ID. Never. BUT, I have had issues with some causing issues with the proximity sensor. I would notice it when, during a phone call, if I moved the phone away from my face that the screen would not light up. Not all had this issue and I was always able to find one that worked perfectly. I do think it was related to the curved screen. No issues at all with flat screen iPhone 12P and full screen protector. I think the kind with notch cut off look bad.

So which ones did not affect the sensor? and who puts a phone to their face anymore?! lol

Sadly there are still times. For the iPhone XS I had, Bodyguardz worked well. For the iPhone 12 flat screen phones, I bet they will all be problem free.

Until I read some threads here over the last few days, I didn't even realize there was full coverage protectors for the 12. But I'll gladly take the notch cutout that the Spigen has just because of their installation tray. Especially with my OCD, I can't go back to manually installing a screen protector.

Most of the glass screen protectors come with installation trays.

I don’t know why they don’t make them all full screen. Spigens only have the notch now.

I’ve always used full and never ones with the cut out. I’ve used one since day one on my iPhone X and NEVER had an issue with FaceID, front camera or the proximity sensor. Absolutely flawless. When I’m on a phone call and move my head away from the phone, screen immediately lights up.

I purchased the ESR full screen protectors ahead of time to install on my 12 when it delivers tomorrow.

Do you use True Tone? If so they’re known to mess with true tone, if not then usually they’re fine
