I’m starting to look for a good tempered glass screen protector for the iPhone 13 Pro. I’m noticing that some screen protectors indicate the protection goes over the notch, instead of leaving the notch area exposed.

wouldn’t a screen protector across the notch have some effect on the front-facing camera performance?

I’ve always had a protector over my notch since the iPhone X. Never noticed a difference between when I had them and once I gave the phone to my mom and she would take the screen protector off because it wouldn’t fit with the ridiculous cases she gets lol

I only edge you edge glass screen protectors that cover the notch and never had any issues with my screen nor Face ID and the front camera working. I’ve seen too many iPhone X and up with the notch area cracked in the wild. I definitely don’t want to be one of those people.

Another vote for the notch covered. I’ve always had these and never had a problem. It looks much better too.
You could even argue that having the notch exposed is worse because of dust accumulating around the edge of the exposed notch area.

I used the Spigen Glas.tR Ez Fit last year on my 12 Pro Max. It doesn't cover the notch. This year I ordered the same product again plus the ESR Armorite which does cover the notch.

I tried to install the ESR first because it looks high quality. You get two in the pack. I couldn't however get either installed without many air bubbles and dust caught under the screen. I wasn't very happy with the product.

The Spigen Glas.tR's are incredible easy to install. It only took me one try last year and one try just a few minutes ago. Their installation tray which just snaps on is incredibly super easy. I'd highly recommend them for most people. I would say more people than not are going to have trouble with the ESR's. Now I see people walking around with iPhone's with screen protectors that have bubbles and dust caught underneath and it doesn't seem to bother them. It would drive me absolutely crazy though. If ESR can improve their installation tray and make it as easy as Spigen I'd go with them.

I’m using a 12 pro protector. With a speaker cutout over the notch.
hasn’t been a problem.

Took me 4 attempts before I got a perfect fit.

I'm wondering if there were dust particles on the screen protector. Like I said I tried with both of the Armorite and it was a pain on both and then the first time with the Glas.tR was perfect.

I contacted ESR on Amazon just to let them know about it and they offered me a refund or a replacement. I said I'll take the replacement and maybe I'll try it again or maybe I won't.

I'm wondering if Spigen has a patent on their installation tray. It's incredibly easy and every company should copy it if they can.

Despite Spigen support telling me they weren't making a sensor protection version for the 13 Pro, it just popped up today

Looks like it was listed internationally first though before they put it on the US Amazon...

Same, my ESR protector has one remaining bubble that just won’t go away. It’s not an installation error as I lifted it a couple of times during application yet it persists. I’ll try the second one and if it also has a bubble I’m going for the spigen glas.tr

I had no issues with my ESR installation. Absolutely flawless

you might want to try the amfilm. i got a perfect install on my 13pm and on my 12pm. i like that it comes with a large sticker for dust removal that covers the whole phone. and the tray is perfect. just be careful when you remove the backing to not move the screen protector inside the tray.

Thanks, I might try them. I actually used am film before and had good results. ESR is usually ok but they either rushed my batch to market or it’s a qc issue.

In regards to the 13 Pro Max, if you get a full screen cover, there should be no issues with getting a 12 Pro Max screen cover yeah???

Or is there a problem because of the speaker that's been moved?

I always take the screen protectors and the new phone with me into the bathroom. When I finish take a shower, the bathroom is nice and humid, which means no dust. I apply the protector before opening the bathroom door. NEVER had a problem with dust during screen protector that way. I've been doing that for my last 6 or 7 phones for the last several years. Works like a charm.
