What are everyone’s opinion on screen protectors with the best oleophobic coating. I hate when the coating starts to wear off and you get fingerprint smudges. I tried an anti glare protector, hoping that would be better fingerprint wise. However, I’m not crazy about the loss of clarity.

So anyone else that has found a protector with oleophobic coating that lasts for more than a couple of months, please share your recommendation.

Along that same line, what screen cleaners may make the coating last longer than others?
Might alcohol strip the coating faster than other non-alcohol cleaners?
Is hand lotion or are cosmetics hard on the oleophobic coating?
Perspiration?
🤔

Belkin Invisglass Ultra was the best that I've found (without going sapphire $$$)

So, I have iKlear and I do use it a lot but I've noticed the oleophobic coating on the screen protector and even the actual screen itself wears away more quickly with the iKlear spray. And this is a safe spray! No alcohol nor ammonia but it still wears it away.

I think the only way to prolong the oleophobic coating is to not wipe the screen so much and just use it as intended.

I agree. I’ve used iKlear, Whoosh and Screen Mom. No matter which I use, I end up swapping protectors out every couple of months - hate the smudges.

I thought about trying the Shellrus and spending the money but then I might get a new phone in the fall. So I did end up ordering a FloLab nano armour protector to see if they were any better than the average ones I buy on Amazon.

I am getting very efficient at installation of screen protectors though. LOL.

Anyone out there with the Shellrus protector? Is the oleophobic coating any better than other screen protectors?

I’ve using the Shellrus screen protector for less than 3 weeks. It’s scratched and chipped by the top. Has always been used with an Apple Silicone case and not dropped or banged. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

My go-to is the Spigen EZ Fit Sensor Protection Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
A really easy system ensures a perfect fit.
The Oleophobic coating does me fine. But I am not so bothered by finger prints as some people are, so YMMV. 🙂

Jeez that sucks, especially for the price.

Looks like Belkin Invisiglass is top tier. No wonder Apple chooses them lol

Yup, absolutely this. Zagg's high-end screen protectors (XTR & Glass Elite VisionGuard) is a close second but the Belkin one's are the best.

My dad always bought cheap screen protectors off eBay (nothing wrong with that) and he always told me they're the same thing as the expensive ones, until I installed a Belkin UltraGlass on his iPhone. He was like wow this looks amazing and the fingerprints are still resisting even a year later! Granted, he has an Otterbox so less things wipe across his screen due to the giant deep lip of the case.

I don’t like the big notch cutout on these. I prefer just the pill cutout - doesn’t look obvious.

I also have been using iCarez screen protector. Have had on my phone since Sept 2021. Great screen protector at an affordable price. I am using the full edge to edge with a black border which gives a more seamless look.
