Has anyone had their screen replaced by Apple? If so, how much did it run you?

I know the out-of-warranty cost is $199, but I'm curious if just the single repair costs anything less than that.

Well, I got a story for you. My son busted his screen on his two years old iPhone with no AppleCare on it. I called them to set a screen replacement. The person that toke my call kept me on the phone for over an hour. At the end, she gave up and told me it would be easier for her to send a replacement iPhone at no cost to me. Of course, I agreed to this...

But, 24 hours after, still no email confirming shipment of iPhone. So I called back and they said that no iPhone replacement was set up but everything was noted under my case number. So he went ahead and set it up with the help of a supervisor. It toke over an hour again. At the end of the call, he said to call him once we receive the iPhone and that were satisfied 100% with their service. He said that he would compensate me for my troubles in setting this up.

So, I called them back once we got the iPhone. Now, the compensation? Believe it or not, he gave me the option on three products worth $300 including a pair of Bose over the ear Bluetooth headphones(Soundlinks II)!!!

And that's why I love Apple.

The screen assembly (crystal & OLED) is glued in, so it is a swap out and not a repair.

Thank you! Guess I'm stuck with this scratch for a while!

That's incredible! Why were you on the phone for so long? What was the circumstance that made it different from a normal screen repair?

It was a normal screen replacement but they couldn't figure how to set up the repair request.

My wife dropped my Apple Watch whilst on holiday (and her 2 week old iPhone 6S too I might add) last year and I had to get Apple to repair, thankfully it was covered by our insurance.

I got my watch repaired by Apple. Store (Norwich UK) had only seen 1 other and didn't know the costs, initially they wanted to charge me £480 due to being unrepairable, however after they chatted wth support they said it was a repairable job and charged me £259.
