So, here is my question concerning the new Retina Display and Remote Desktop usability.

Will Remote Desktop clients be able to give you some more screen estate that the previous iPad couldn't?

I realize that maybe not MAX resolution because of how tiny the font would be, but what about being able to run a more reasonable resolution, like 1600x900 without scrolling around? Can a third party do this? Or is it totally up to Apple?

Cheers!

Depending on which remote desktop solution you use, you'll be able to get a certain level of supported resolutions. Logmein I know scales the resolution to the size of the iPad screen. When the 2012 iPad is in consumer hands, the display will probably scale to the right size. Running Logmein Ignition on the new iPad will most likely be nicer compared to now where the fonts get smudgy on the screen. I'm excited to see the new RDPs out on the market after the 2012 iPad gets released.
