Hello, I just bought a new TV (Vizio VO22l) to connect my Mac Mini to. The display supports 1680x1050 but when I connect my mac to it, that resolution is not an option. I was able to force it with switchresx, but I wanted to know if there was a better solution. I dont really like these little hacks and since this res is clearly supported by OSX, the mini, and the TV, why wouldn't this work right out of the box?

Odds are the root cause is related to the drivers Mac OS X is using to control the TV you are using as a display. Nothing you can do about it really, except bug the driver manufacturer.
