Screen resolution setting: Project64 emulator on a unibody MacBook

Heya,

I'm running Project64 (the Nintendo64 emulator for windows) on Win XP SP2 via VMware on a unibody aluminum MacBook. Problem is--every screen resolution I choose for full screen runs for a second or two and then goes black. Windowed mode runs fine. Could anyone with any knowledge of this post some help as to what setting I need or what I may be doing wrong? What boggles me most is not so much the pixel hw settings, but it also wants the hz of the display. So really I have no idea.
