I've been trying to decide between the 15" Macbook Pro or 17". Are the screen qualities on them the same? The resolution/dpi. I can't seem to find a clear answer on this. My friend bought her 17" in the Apple store and told me she got the HD version. Is that availabe for the 15"?

Also has anyone bought the 15" 2.2 and wished they went for the 2.4?

I'm finding that they say there isn't much difference. I'd be using it for CS3 and After Effects (short animations).

Thanks for any thoughts.

I'm having a tough time deciding as well. I'm considering the 17" because I need 1680x1050 resolution. 1440x900 is just too large for me at 15.4".

I keep changing my mind though :(

17" refurbished for 2199 or a 15.4" refurb for 1899

The high definition option is only available on the 17".

I have a 17" PowerBook that has 1680x1050. It's awesome. I haven't seen the high resolution MBP though. One thing I do find is that when working with photos, I lose concept of how my stuff will look on a 1200x800 (or whatever) resolution.

I can't imagine what the high resolution 17" would be like. It'd be even more useful if they had HD-DVD drives in the MBPs ;)
