My experience so far is that I can screenshare with machines that are running the Beta, but not between machines that are on the Beta and ones still running Mavericks. I can connect to them, and browse files, but when I screenshare I get a "Please try again with different credentials (null)" error.

Is this just me or is it a legitimate issue? I did submit a bug report, but I was curious if someone could verify that this is universal.

Is this iMessage screensharing or wifi screen sharing?

It's the Back to my Mac screensharing. Your Macs show up in the sidebar and when you select them you can connect (browse files) or Share Screen (control the target computer). That is what I'm having issues with.

I installed 10.10 on my Mini and was able to do screen sharing from my 10.9 nMP without any credential issues. However the mouse and keyboard lagged so much, it's almost useless to try and do anything in a screen share session. Remote management is going to be painful until this lag is addressed.

I have the same problem. It always worked before and suddenly after installing Yosemite it won't Screen Share. Hoping a fix is coming soon. Not sure why it seems to work with older versions of OS X.

OK I think I figured it out. The problem is an authentication error. So I tried screen sharing the other way, from my Mavericks computer to my Yosemite computer and that worked fine.

Then I went back to my Yosemite computer and tried connecting and it prompted me for my username and password, which I entered and it worked! So maybe that will help someone. Kind of weird but it worked for me. Beta software is like that sometimes.

I can screen share just fine from my home to my mac mini server at home also to a mac mini in one office location running mavericks as well as a 2nd mac mini running mavericks in another location.

There is some lag but it still works for me and has through each DP.

Hmmm, lag as in some time between clicking accept the screen share invite and when you actually see the other screen?

Correct, the systems usually connect rather quickly but i do have a slight delay, maybe 1 second in between clicking a button and seeing the result on the other end.

I am having a lot of connection problems with screen sharing on my Macs since I installed Yosemite on them.

The 'Shortcut' links no longer work and a lot of the time I get a message that the Mac is not available even though it is.

Anyone with similar problems and/or fix?

I was talking about my situation... Are you trying to connect to it via iMessage? If not, try it.

Fair call, sorry I misunderstood your reply.

iMessage is a messaging service. Why would (or how) can you do screen sharing through iMessage? I'm sorry but it doesn't make sense to me?

I connect to screen sharing through Finder and clicking "Share Screen...". It works most of the time but about 20% it brings an error. Also I have always had an Alias to each screen on my desktop and they no longer work either. Even if I reset them.

    Hi,
It's fine. I will try to help you as much I can. First, both Macs must be on Yosemite. Then on one Mac, go to the conversation you want to connect to (the Mac that you want to view/control). Then go to details and tap the 2 squares that are partially overlapping and tap share my screen or ask to share the other users screen. I don't know if this works with 2 Yosemite running macs on the same Apple ID.

I'm not even getting an option to view my Mac Mini's (Maverick's) screen on my now updated macbook air. When I click it in finder, it automatically connects to the mini and shows me shared folders. It used to be that I could click "connect" or "share screen." It seems that option is gone for me.

EDIT: I see it now. For those that are as blind as me, it's above the shared folders as an option. Basically right below the search in finder.

I used to see my home iMac in the left-pane of the Finder under "Shared" when I was away from home using my MacBook Pro on another network. I no longer see this device in that list.

When both machines are on the home network, I do see the machine's name, and am able to connect. Nothing has changed with my router's configuration.

I've tried disabling and re-enabling "Back to my Mac" on both machines, but it doesn't seem to help. Anybody know what I should try to get it fixed?

    screen shaRING

I can connect to my other Mac fine but are we suppose to be able to click other links or is it just a share feature? I'm asking does this feature work like Teacm Viewer. Allowing others to remotely make updates

I had a lot of Screen Sharing issues with 10.9 when I first installed it. I finally deleted and rebuilt all users for Screen and File sharing and that did the trick. Might give it a try.
