Screen shots on Finder Toolbar!

Somehow screenshots have found there way onto the 'Finder' Toolbar. (see attachment) as well as on the Desktop. When I moved one from Desktop to Trash it remained on the Toolbar till I emptied the Trash when it changed to a question mark!
Does anyone know how it happened and how to remove them from the toolbar?🙄

Hold the Command key and drag them off.

Perhaps an inadvertent drag and drop. Who knows? There are many possibilities.
