Coming from a 6S+ on 9.3.5 and getting 11-12 hours of usage time. It will be an issue if I'm getting 6-8 hours on an X.

It sounds like you don't currently own an X?

I see the reduced width as a perk

I was very skeptical but feels way better in hand

I want to point out that other (Android) "flagship" phones are moving to basically the same display aspect ratio.

I notice the change when browsing. With 6+, I usually use landscape mode. For the X, I have to use portrait because it’s narrower and web page don’t seem to fit as well. Still, the screen is much better on the X and it would hard going back. My only major complaint is X weight. It still feels heavy after 3 weeks.

The funny thing about the weight is that the X is an ounce lighter than the 8 Plus and still half an ounce lighter than the 7 Plus.

Yes, I am aware about it’s official weight. It’s just the X is smaller, and thus, the weight is not spread out as compare to the Plus so it “feels” more heavy in your hands.

No issues for me. I always felt the Plus to be a little too large anyway. At first the X will feel narrow, as it is, but then after a few minutes it will feel just right. Unless the X Plus has some major upgrades over the regular sized X, I don't think I want to go back to using such a huge phone.

I hate the size of the Plus, always have. I tried many times to switch to the 4.7" but just couldn't make it work because of the battery and screen. I just hope that the narrow screen of the X doesn't sacrifice too much compared to the 5.5".

It doesn't, it's very marginal. The X hits that sweet spot.

I had similar fears but coming from the 7 Plus to X, the width on the X is fine.

Came from an 8 Plus before returning and purchasing the iPhone X. It can be a bit narrow at first. But, your eyes will adjust a few days after using it. It’s also a lot easier to hold IMO.

I agree with that. It feels very dense. It probably is, due to the folded boards and double batteries, compared to the close-to-same-size iPhone 7.
[doublepost=1513354682][/doublepost]iPhone 6S -> iPhone 7 -> iPhone X. Physically, it's a great compromise. Most of the screen of the Plus in a chassis only slightly larger than the non-Plus.

Size, both physical and screen, feels just perfect.

I doubt that I'll ever go back to a bigger phone, even when the inevitable plus size model comes out in '18 or beyond. It's just so darn good to not lug around a bloody TV anymore.

I will give my definitive thoughts tomorrow when I can make a proper comparison however I’ve seen a few in the wild and I also saw one in store a few weeks ago. My thoughts were that the body looks absolutely tiny but the screen itself doesn’t seem small when looking at it. It looked sufficient.

To me the x was to small I like the width of the plus models. I’m not really a fan of bezel less phones to be honest I find my palm can sometimes touch on the edge of the screen. And when turning phone round into landscape mode I end up pausing video where there’s no bezels

Went from 7 plus to X. Had the X for two weeks. Ended up returning it. While the screen was taller it is narrower.

For me I didn’t notice the height difference, but definitely notice the width difference. It made the screen feel smaller especially with the rounded edges. Also I was having the eye strain issue with the screen as well, and Face ID still needs a little bit of work. I ended up returning the X and currently selling my 7 Plus and now have the 8 Plus.

The X had great battery life though. I’ll wait until next year for the “bigger” X.

Coming from a Note 8 and a 7 Plus before that, I’ve noticed my hand hurts a lot less at the end of the day. I haven’t noticed any difference in battery life either.
I’ve had the note 8 and I didn’t have an issue with it being narrow.

X Plus is the sweet spot for me. The X is a good size but having a bigger screen would be sexy

To put it another way I would still get the X Plus once it gets released next year. I transitioned from 7 Plus to X but sometimes the lack of width is noticeable.

Oh you eventually got the X?

How are you finding it? I know you were as skeptical as me. I l’ve given up and bought one. It should be arriving tomorrow.

Yeah. So far the screen size doesn't seem to bother me all that much. YouTube viewing in landscape or viewing any media feels smaller. Portrait mode web browsing and apps don't feel smaller though except for reduced width. The full screen effect helps mask it.

Went from a plus to An X. No problems at all especially since apps are slowly updating to X.
I love the size and how comfortable it feels in my hand!

Occasionally I wonder why it isn't waking up then realize I'm holding up side down :) No home button to easily orient when dark.

Went from a 6+ to the X. Smaller footprint is better to handle and use (especially with the camera). I thought the less wide X would bother me but it doesn't.
