screen spanner help needed

hi, i know this is an old subject but ive only just found out about this hack which i really need. i have a ibook g4 1.42GHz running os 10.4.11. Can anyone confirm that its safe to use the mod on my machine?
ive read older posts and it seems so, but i wanted to check and ask if anyone is using it safely.

well i don't own an ibook, not anymore, but id say try it at ur own risk.

Used it for years on my ibook G4(through both Tiger and Leopard)--works wonders and never any issues.
