Screen turned dark

Hi,

Can anyone help me? My Macbook Air has this issue of the screen occasionally turning dark with a band on black bar running vertically down the screen. It may take a few minutes to automatically change back to the normal screen. Sometimes, it just changes from normal to dark to normal for many times, before it stabilises to normal again. As I work very heavily on my laptop, it will be a hassle for me to send to a repair centre to fix out, unless they can do it on the spot.

Have you tried any troubleshooting?
It looks like a hardware problem to me. You may need to make an Apple Store appointment to have them run their test diagnostics and you can decide what to do depending on the results.

Looks like a loose display cable to me. If you're up for it, you might try popping off the bottom and reseating the cable.
