Screen Unknown Callers feature

I recently was tricked by Apple into upgrading from iOS 18 to iOS 26. 🙂

Anyway, today I was prompted with enabling the "Screen Unknown Callers" feature.

Is there any downside to enabling this?

Brilliant feature which I use, and I can't think of any downsides at all (in my experience!).

Give it a go and see how you get on.

Personally, I love it. I use the "Silence" feature, e.g. anyone not in my contacts goes straight to VM.

"Ask Reason for Calling" - eh, I suppose there could be a use for it. It's not for me. If it's someone I need to talk to, I don't need to RIGHT NOW. I'll call them back. ymmv.

My wife uses her iPhone for business calls (despite my encouraging her to use a VoIP 🫠) so she has it turned off. She gets her business calls.... and lots of spam/scam calls too.
