Just noticed the wake up delay after tapping the screen is very slow compared to my girlfriend's machine which is on iOS 15. (both are iPhone 13 mini) Anyone else noticed this too? It becomes annoying pretty soon after the novelty of new looking unlock screen wears off.

Perhaps at least partly on purpose. When you have a wallpaper with recognized depth objects it fades in the foreground object, followed by the background. Note that the screen is instantly responsive for unlocking at any time during the animation.

Yes, they are trying to show off the wallpaper but the functionality of the lockscreen went backwards. The ghost of Jony Ive designed this.

you meant, ios16, right?
Nah, 15, if she is running the latest 15.7.7 is somewhat comparable to 16.5.1.
Its more so people don't compare old dated versions without security updates with new.

Not saying that she will have the issue, but its still interesting since its a minor update but both fixes similar big security issues.

On a second thought, I just assumed that @pinkkie had the latest iOS 16 version installed, but of course they can both have dated versions of iOS15 and iOS16
