Getting between the backlight and LED screen of my Mid 2011 iMac to clean dust out, had to remove the cover from the board.

Bit heavy handed I pulled the two wire cable that fits into the socket on the screen power unit.

2 wires with what look like crimped copper connectors and no idea where they go.

have noticed that on the breakdown videos can find that this connector normally appears to have 4 wires? But this was how it came out and the screen, apart from the internal dust, was working fine.

Really appreciate anyone who can - politely;-) - tell me where to stick these wires.

Thanks people.

2 wires is correct. It goes exactly where you point out (red circle).
I see, you pulled out the other end... This goes underneath the black sticker.
You remove a bit of the black sticker, and on my 21.5", there is a 4-pin connector. Mine is marked CN6.
2 pins are for this wire you are asking about, and the other 2 pins are for a temperature sensor that is stuck to the screen.
So starting with the temperature sensor = pin 1:
Pin 1: Black, temperature sensor
Pin 2: Grey, temperature sensor
Pin 3: black, the two-pin cable
Pin 4: grey, the two pin cable

2 wires is correct. It goes exactly where you point out (red circle). It only fits in one direction, and you can easily insert it without much force. If you need a lot of force, it is not right. Try again.
Thanks USB but sorry, I wasn't clear on my post obviously. MY problem is that the two wires have come free from the board and I don't know where they go?

Ah, I see, you removed the entire sticker, it goes here, yellow oval:
(The order of color is Black-grey-black-grey)

Sorry for the confusion.

And here is the view from 27" iMac 2011:

That's the position of the connector.

I see thank you... does it matter which goes in where? They are both black?? I believe the 27" mid 2011 iMac vertical sync cable isn't all that necessary in the mid 2011?

No probs thanks... got it figured by which side had been taped. ;-) Happy days thank you!
