Screenshots off of desktop?

Hey everybody. I've been getting fed up with seeing my desktop become

cluttered with all the screenshots i take and was wondering how to send my

screenshots to a folder other than the desktop???

I read up on some stuff involving terminal which i'm not too familiar with yet, but it was dated back in 2005 so i guess those instructions just didn't work right with 10.6.6.
