Are there any good, free screenwriting programs that work on PowerPC? (Especially for screenwriting, not a word processing program alone).

According to this 2006 review, Final Draft 7 should well and truly fit the bill. The latest version that I could find on the Garden is #5. Perhaps others can give you clues as to where FD 7 can be obtained.

Also check out Scrievner too. :)

I have a copy of Final Draft 7.1.3 with a crack. It's Universal Binary, but it comes with a keygen.exe so you need a windows machine for that. I can upload it to the garden if its okay?

Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the esellerate activation for any PPC version of Scrivener given that esellerate is no longer in business?

Version 1.54 was given away on the November 2011 Mac Format cover disc. I'd presume that it includes the activator. There's a copy complete with the cover disc currently for sale on eBay. Otherwise, there are programs available on sites that cannot be mentioned here which can circumvent the activation process...

I can upload to the garden Scrivener version 2.0.2 & version 2.2 if you guys want to.

As far as i know, version 2.5 is the last with the PPC support, it will take time to download that..but when it does ill upload it also to the garden.

Also, version 1.54 is still in the download process, just like version 2.5 :D

Are they already activated/contain the activator?

Should i upload both or? :D

They should contain an activator or be already activated.

Off topic:...
The G4 and G5 Macs can produce scientific pitch at 432Hz, making it a pretty good candidate to make music on. Even today at professional standard. I can find plugins and samples for PPC, i just need help with the names so i can look over the internet.
I can upload all that to the Garden..if there's interest, we can make a dedicated audio thread here for all that. :D

I've uploaded a list that I've made before regarding DAW software and some included plugins, now it just needs to be filled with various other plugins. :D

Wha...wha..what?! Are you trying to tell me that you can actually run an instance of Kontakt on a PPC? And Logic 9?? Isn't the current version 10? Amazing.

I imagine it's probably one of those G5-required-if-you-want-any-performance situations, but that is still mind blowing to me. Can you imagine the swagger/retro street cred rolling up to the local shop, pulling out a Powerbook G4 and firing up a DAW session? People's heads would explode. My head would explode.

You are a scholar and a gentleperson.

The G5 is pretty capable, why wouldn't it do DAW work? ;)
I'll try to make a thread with all of the plugins from the garden and links for DAW software, so people will have everything at one place, that's my idea :D

I've looked up on this link all the versions that support PPC:

There's a lot of software compatible, so I'll include it in the list when i do the testing.
I don't have much time right now to get really deep into this project, but I hope It will be completed in the following weeks.
There's a lot of software on the new list I created and for one person it's a bit overwhelming :D

If there's interest, i can upload all the stuff that isn't on Macintosh Garden on MEGA or Google Drive, so people can help out with the testing.

Stay tuned and I'll report!

I used Final Draft 8 on my Powerbook 12, 15 & Powermac G4. It works flawlessly. But....you need a window machine to run the keygen. Or if you have winehq in your new Mac environment.
