    Have a 2012 MBA 11.6 .
Tried bootcamp for installing windows 7 . All went well. Windows was working fine till I realised I was running out of space .. So I tried increasing the bootcamp partition via teh windows disk manager and yup I screwed up the partitions .
Lost the mountain lion partition as well as the recovery hd and even the windows stopped booting.
So I somehow got into Internet recovery and managed to delete all the screwed up partitions and now I hav 240 or so gb of free space.

Now here is where my problems begin.
I switched off the Internet recovery thinking once the recovery has been loaded from Internet it won't need to be reconnected to Internet . Yup another blunder.
Now the problem is I m on a trip away from home . Hotel connection ain't that good.
I somehow got hold of another mac and made a recovery disk using recovery disk assistant.
But I can't Entef the recovery using that disk. If I select it I get the grey screen with a circle and slash in between.
Has anyone had this problem ?

I m thinking of visiting local apple store but I don't know If they will help .

Is there any way for me to enter recovery without internet? The USB I made doesn't work.

Sorry for the confusing post. It's 2am here :p

Get a firewire cable and connect the two Macs with each other. Power up your MBA while holding T. Then your MBA should appear on the other Mac, where you can install OS X again.

MacBook Airs do not have Firewire ports, though if you have two 2011 or later Macs, you could use Thunderbolt for Target Disk Mode.

Anyway, if that does not work, you can go to an Apple Store and they will be able to help you or at least let you download OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and put it on a USB flash memory thumb drive.

The problem is with not being able to enter the recovery from the USB thumb drive. I will go and visit the local store here. I don't have access to the other mac now. It was just someone I met at a coffee shop :/
Does the USB drive needs to b formatted via disc utility before making it into recovery disk?
