My MacBook Pro is attached to an OWC Thunderbolt 3 hub. It works fabulously, but sometimes, when it resumes from sleep, it doesn't recognize the external display. If I remove and reattach the Thunderbolt cable, the display is recognized... BUT, if I've forgotten to eject my external drive before doing this, I get a message scolding me for my bad behavior.

Is there a script, app, or applet I can run which will cause the OS to re-scan for new displays? Opening the Display control panel does not do the trick.

Update: So far, I've learned that I can open the Displays control panel, press Option, and then the Night Shift button becomes a "Detect Displays" button. But if there's a command line, I should be able to create a clickable script file that will do the trick. Thanks in advance!
