Guys,

I run a business, and I'm looking to automate some things to speed things up. I receive all payments through PayPal, so obviously I get an email from PayPal with the transaction ID, money amounts, shipping address, date, etc.

I also have a spreadsheet in Numbers, which I use as a receipt, then output as a PDF and email to the customer.

Is there any way for me to set up some sort of script, so that I can automatically take the info. from the PayPal email and put it into my Numbers receipt (increasing the invoice number and filename by 1 each time), then email the exported PDF to the customer?

Any help appreciated!

Thanks.

Sounds like the sort of thing that might be possible with AppleScript, but it could be very fiddly to setup and get working 100%

The first thing would be to create a rule in Mail, so that when an email is received from PayPal that contains my business name in the body, it runs the Applescript...but obv. the hardest thing to do would be to create the script itself...
