Scrivener 2.7 with Yosemite UI Now Available.

I just received this email from Literature & Latte stating:

"I wanted to let you all know that Scrivener 2.7 is now available to users who bought from us direct (or from one of our resellers such as Amazon.com). It should also be available on the Mac App Store, where it is currently awaiting review, very soon. Please read on for more information."

And

"1. Scrivener 2.7 for Mac Now Available (and Submitted to the Mac App Store)

Scrivener 2.7 adds compatibility with OS X 10.11 El Capitan (which is set for release on 30th September), and includes many bug-fixes. It is a free update for all registered users of Scrivener 2, and we recommend that you update from whatever version of Scrivener you are using. Updates and fixes include:

• El Capitan-ready: minor updates and fixes for 10.11 compatibility.
• Icons and UI updated for a more modern look consistent with El Capitan and Yosemite.
• File format updated for compatibility with future mobile versions. (Please note that you will not be able to open 2.7 projects in earlier versions of Scrivener.)
• The tutorial project has been updated, and now includes a new "Quick Start" collection.
• Updated the built-in MultiMarkdown components to version 4."

Yes! Implementation of the file format means that Scrivener 3 and the iOS version just came a big leap closer, as it means they have nailed down the major things and are now just working on bugs.

Unfortunately, they also wrote on the forum that the iOS version will not make it for 2015, which means that Scrivener 3 with a GUI overhaul is also far away.

But I like the new icons at least. 8)

Really? I missed that one. Aww man, I really thought they'd come through on this promise.

I doubt there will ever be an iPhone version...

Yeah, it was stated in the "Scrivener for iOS - When?" thread. I had also anticipated 2015, but they must have a complete code mess, or gotten an inexperienced new programmer on board.

They really blew the iOS release for sure.
