Just got a new iMAC so I'm a bit rusty. It comes with a magic mouse which has a touch screen thingy on the top surface.
It's supposed to do the divil-an'-all but it's driving me nuts
On a spread sheet or web page the cursor moves far right at the slightest touch or the screen shot becomes magnified to the extreme.
If I tap the mouse surface it SOMETIMES returns to normal.
Why is this happening? Is it the closeness of my fingers to the mouse or is there a preference setting somewhere.
My Missing Manual has missed this quirk.

Thanks for that.
Fixed the zoom issue but the spreadsheet mania is still there.
The cursor suddenly goes far right and low down.???
It can only be rescued by a continuous clik on the bottom scroll bar on the left hand side.

Is there such a thing as a wireless mouse without the clever touch surface trick. At the moment it is wasting more time for me than is warranted

You could try the Apple's trackpad, I believe its much nicer to work with. Other than that, any third-party mouse, wireless or not will work with you mac. Beware that some mice have extra features that might require extra drivers.
