My question is related to audio production requirements - there is nothing like a 10,000/15,000 rpm SCSI drive to handle multiple audio tracks with plug-ins, etc. However, this is not an option for portables. If I connect my external SCSI drive via a scsi-to-firewire adapter.. to my firewire port.. will the performance be affected? For audio, its the seek time of the drive that counts .. someone correct me if I am wrong. Such a solution would be great, as it would offer the speed of a SCSI drive but the convenience of a portable workstation. Any comments?
