Got the replacement today, opened it up and saw a shinny mark on it. Used the included felt to see if it was a thumbprint or something human, but indeed...it is a scratch that someone tried to buff out. 
Understandable, but they shouldn't ship it like that. It's way to obvious.
Also looking at the LCD, it's noticeably yellow compared to my original iMac. Gonna give it a closer look now. I'm starting to think my original is perfect and that the IR was related to power supply issues as my APC just died.
