Got the replacement today, opened it up and saw a shinny mark on it. Used the included felt to see if it was a thumbprint or something human, but indeed...it is a scratch that someone tried to buff out. 😕 Understandable, but they shouldn't ship it like that. It's way to obvious.
Also looking at the LCD, it's noticeably yellow compared to my original iMac. Gonna give it a closer look now. I'm starting to think my original is perfect and that the IR was related to power supply issues as my APC just died.
