When I plug an SD card to my 2022 macbook pro m1 max's sd card slot, osx asks if I want to connect the device. However, allowing doesn't work. The sd card cannot be accessed. It is not shown in diskutility neither.

The "allow accessories to connect" is set to ask every time and it is grayed out. I don't know if this means anything.

The Lockdown mode is enabled on this macbook pro. Most likely the issue is related to that. But I don't understand why allowing doesn't really "allow" the device to be connected.

Any ideas what I could do other than disabling lockdown mode? I really want to access the contents of my SD card. Does anybody have the same problem?

Same problem here.

If I restart the mac with the SD card inserted, it will mount when the computer is booted. But subsequent eject→reinsert doesn't result in a mount.

Upgraded to ventura 13.5.2 (22G91). Now it works after selecting allow after inserting the card. issue fixed.
