Yes, it's been 2 years since this was talked about. So seems very odd to bring it up. Hence I said it's been 2 years, not the thread is 2 years old. :rolleyes:
 
1. SD card slots sometimes fail. Instead of dealing with quality issues they decided it's someone else's problem and removed it all together

2. Save costs in production, and also in after sales support. Actually it's a huge cost saver to remove parts.

I actually bought a used 2015 MacBook Pro where someone was using a Transcend SD for extra memory, and it actually fried the i/o board on the MBP. Ended up selling that one. Lol.

I personally like the USB-C and buy a hub to plug any legacy hardware into
 
The bottom line is that regardless of what anyone wants SD card slots are gone forever. No use debating about it.

Yes, I also heard about this. Megatron from Transformers came to earth for real and removed all SD card slots. There was a secret battle in the digital underground and now all SD card slots are gone forever. TH1s h3pp3nD for R3AL !!!1!!
