I have been trying to access five sd cards on my iMac M1 with Ventura beta 3. None of them can be seen. They are recognised in Disk Utility and I have tried erasing, formatting, First Aid but just don't show up on the desktop (I have external drives ticked in Finder settings). It's not the end of the world if I can't get them to be seen but would like to if possible. I have tried two different hubs as well. I haven't tried to use these cards for about a year (before I got the iMac) and they worked fine then. Many thanks for any suggestions

Hi. They are showing as Mac os extended(Journalled), I have tried erasing and formatting as exfat but the procedure never completes and has to be force quit.

I am seeing the same problem with C Fast cards formatted in exFAT. Disk Utility sees an exFAT partition but cannot mount it. It also cannot format the card.
Funnily enough, file recovery software (I tried Disk Drill) sees the files immediately during a quick scan and can recover my files without any problem.
Also the same card reads as expected and mounts on my old Mac Mini running Monterey.
So it looks like it is a bug in the current beta. The release notes are talking about some changes to exFAT but this is more than a change, it is totally broken!

Interesting, might be worth trying the utility slomtbr mentioned. These cards worked before Ventura so it looks like something has happened to cause these problems

I tried the SD Card formatter and it fails too. It seems to be a problem at OS level. As I said it is only on the latest Ventura. Previous OS's work. As it seems to be a bug in the beta, I have reported it to Apple.
