asimac support says for my imac

2011 maximum 16Gb 4 slots are available... i have actualy 2Gb+ 2Gb+ +8Gb.... what if I put more in the 4th slot...8 Gb...Will it work...?why does mac suppoet say max 16Gb???

Yes the extra 8GB should work. Apple say 16GB max because when that iMac was announced 8GB memory modules were more than likely unavailable.
