I don't really understand most bashers comments. They complain no full screen, no FaceID, no triple lenses, blah blah blah.....
Does Apple have iPhone 11/11 pro/Max for other market?
Personally, I love SE. I like small & light weight and latest SoC/LTE and TouchID.

Half of the people bashing the device would never get an iPhone in general, and the rest can’t understand that this is an entry level budget iPhone.
It’s just an old model with up-to-date SOC and 5 years of support, like the previous SE four years ago.
Is it so hard to understand?

Haters will always hate and people can never be happy for other people it seems these days.

It’s not a competition, we all share an interest in tech.

Whether you like Android, Apple or just like the flagship... the new SE is a good thing for all concerned as it forces improvements to justify higher cost of the next generation of devices whilst giving those who wanted the latest tech in a proven form factor a chance to upgrade for not a lot of money when compared to the top devices in the line up.

Many people aren't familiar with a $399 low-cost iPhone.

We'll be seeing more of these low-cost mainstream iPhones next year, starting with the SE2 Plus. Then when SE3 Plus arrives, some will complain about why Touch ID is on the power button like an Android.

YOU'RE JUST SAYING THAT BECAUSE YOU'RE LOSING!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

We all get excited about new phones, though perhaps on different schedules. It's frustrating to be waiting for the next big release and then to see everyone get excited about a product you don't want...you feel left out of the joy.

It's because Apple released essentially a 2017 flagship phone that's already good (iPhone 8) and stuffed a ferrari engine in it and updated a few things with tweaks and camera, etc and released it for $399 to the market for people that still want a flagship iOS phone but at a lower price. Yes, it's still a flagship.

People are having aneurysms because they cannot conceive that Apple released a well balanced phone for $399 and people are spec-hunting pointing at OLED $200 Android phones and going "SEE!! LOOK IT HAS NO BEZELS AND ITS OLED!!! WHY COULDN'T APPLE DO THAT!!".

If you have a decent IQ, you know what Apple is doing. And the thought "apple is just rehashing an iPhone 8 again" is a low IQ thought process and fake-woke. Hint: S O F T W A R E

I disagree with your assertion the the new SE is a flagship. Only thing it shares with the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max is the A13. If it was a flagship it would offer every feature the flagships have which it obviously can't.. The SE is a well equipped, well priced iPhone undoubtedly but not a flagship device unless your only measure of a flagship is the latest chipset..

What’s funny two and a half years ago people waited on line for days to get the iPhone 8. It also cost a lot more and wasn’t as capable. My phone needs hasn’t changed that much since September 22, 2017. No complaints here since it’s priced at $399.

We're remembering things quite differently.

As I recall, lines were empty on iPhone 8/8+ release date. It was the iPhone X that people waited for (in November?).

I am a Windows / Android guy - however I find the iPhone SE intriguing. This Franken-Phone has a lot to offer at this price point. Other manufacturers may be thinking about a similar twist to their product line, or they should be.

Well, you are looking at the enthusiast crowd that hardly resembles real life or real customers out there. It’s a specialized subset of people and some just bash anything that they’re not excited about.

Get what works for you and ignore the noise! ;)

Not to be nitpicking but you have a weird understanding of flagship products. The 8 wasn’t one (that year the X stole the show and the 8 was the older form factor already) and the SE is an entry level iPhone.
There’s nothing bad about being the most affordable good product in a line of good products, in my opinion.

The iPhone SE 2020 is in a different Market. With the current world situation - and economic slow-down, purchasing styles will be reflective. People are not going to want to pay high prices for a mobile phone in an uncertain economic environment. The $399 may be a sweet spot now, allowing people to purchase a new phone and not feel so financially stressed.

I’d say the new SE is definitely a budget phone, since it’s replacing the budget iPhone 8, at an even lower price point. Apple has simply raised the bar considerably on what customers can get in a budget phone. It’s got more power than any available Android phone. It takes great photos - on par with their flagship models in decent light.

i know. Not everyone wants to spend $700 on a phone. Most just want a reliable good phone. The SE is that.

Yes that was great how they made budget phones as fast or faster than a high end android lol. That’s awesome. Let’s see them copy the se philosopy

I have no issues spending top dollar for iPhone. Since I have bought X, XS Max, XR and 11 for my family. Finally I went back to iPhone 8. Touch ID is a must for me. Getting tired to pickup for unlocking my phone while working at office. Moreover I can unlock my phone at midnight without stretching my eyes open. I love se2 it’s light weight and good price for latest SoC. If someone need OLED, faceID blah blah, he or she should look for 11 series or android. SE is different market for someone like me

Except it shouldn't be...

I am still using the old SE from years ago because it is small. Not as great as the fantastic Matrix phone I had back in early 2000s or even the StarTac which was small when folded. But the SE is still slim and easy enough to grip all around the device with one hand.

The SE 2nd Gen should have been even smaller and thinner (I am sure they could have gotten it down to close to an iPod Touch 6th Gen size) and that would have been amazing. No bezels, super thin, and powerful. WOW.

But nope. They went all out with ugly bezels (useless/wasted real estate space), called it the SE when it isn't (it's a repackaged 8 or 8s), and $399 is not a budget price. Getting it to $199 or $99 (especially under $100) would have been incredible for iOS adoption in countries en masse like India because everyone uses Android there pretty much.
