Seach broken when including "-"

I've noticed when searching for things like x-plane and os-x I'm getting errors like

index post,postdelta: query is non-computable (single NOT operator)

and

index post,postdelta: syntax error, unexpected $end near 'x'

respectively.

I have no idea if this is since the re-design or not though.

I think it's always done this, which is why I mainly use mroogle or just do a site:macrumors.com search in google where I can choose all kinds of options to narrow my searches better than the site has capability for.

The search system doesn't handle most punctuation. And the error messages aren't impressive either.
