I almost pulled the trigger on a 250G Seagate Fast SSD external drive, but at the last minute I chickened out because I've heard some things about Seagate's HDD reliability. Of course HDD is a completely different technology, but poor QC is poor QC....

Have you owned a Seagate SSD? If you prefer other brands, which ones have done the job for you over a reasonable period of time?
 
I've had a Seagate HDD for 2-3 years. Still works fine.
 
I may go ahead and buy it. It gets good reviews, and I like idea that it comes with target-folder syncing (mirroring) software for PC and Mac, even though I may not end up needing it....
