Sad day.

Sad to wake up to this news on top of the world falling apart, but Sean was my favorite 007 and always an interesting actor to watch no matter what film. Sean rose out of the slums and became an icon that I doubt the world will ever forget. I always wanted to meet him, but now perhaps on the other side... RIP

Personally, while his role as James Bond was iconic, and emblematic of the zeitgeist of the 60s, I preferred Sean Connery in some of his more mature roles (such as when he appeared in The Name of the Rose, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, The Hunt for Red October among others).

I know I may get flack for this movie but, I always enjoyed him in “Highlander,” as well as the Bond films. “The Hunt for Red October” was good as well.
Both great movies - really enjoyed Red October when it came out - being a Tom Clancy fan this movie was a great follow up to the book - Sean Connery nailed the character of Soviet submarine captain Marko Ramius

Great Actor - RIP Sean Connery - thanks for all the great movies 💕

As an actor, I didn’t care for him. Some of his later 90’ films were not that great and I acknowledge his earlier days is from a different genre of film making/acting differs from my era in what I (Being 34 years old) would appreciate.

But more to the point, to make it to 90 is a milestone and a long life. The new Bond movie was actually slated to open in November (Delayed due to C/19), it would have been a nice tribute to the heritage he built making the Series it is today. Bonds legacy is due to him, much respect for that.

I come here and see this... damn. Looks like he'd been sick for a while. I hope he didn't suffer.

I have good memories about the old Bond movies. My parents used to watch them all those years (decades) ago and that's how I got introduced to the series. But here's my favourite of his roles:

So, many great Sean Connery movies mentioned. Which isn't that difficult. Just name a random movie he's been in and it was probably good. At least he'd have played his part well. Even a bit part like in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was done brilliantly.

Yep, nothing better than the original. My second best was Roger Moore.

Oddly enough I liked George Lazenby. I think his big problem was nobody wanted a new Bond. On a whole he did a good job and was one of the few Bond movies which managed to press an emotional ending. His Bond was less fantastical and more believable for a Bond movie.

He's so good in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, there's only one man who could ever have played Dr. Henry Jones, Jr's Dad, and that's the brilliant Sean Connery. I rewatched this semi-recently, it's tight, wonderfully acted, has a nice tie-in with the original, has that beautiful opening with River Phoenix playing Indy (that always makes me a little sad).

Oh yeah, he had terrible performances in these films ...

The Wind and the Lion
The Hill
The Man Who Would Be King
The Name of the Rose
The Untouchables
Time Bandits

LOL 🤣

Untouchables 💕

Would also add . . .

The Hunt for Red October
Dr No - My fav Connery bond film (and with Ursula 😍)
Just Cause
