search box does not show up in contacts

Search box does not show up in phone contacts? Everything else seems to be working ok and downloaded. Can I download 2 again and how do I do that?

got it now

i just re-docked thew phone and brought up I Tune and it started sync contacts and now I have it. It must not have fully sync' when i did it early am.
