My search engine is hijacked and I cannot remove 'lkyseachds' from my search engine list-see screenshot.
I've looked in Activity Monitor for this entry and cannot find it to delete. Any help greatly appreciated.
If you change your default search engine to one of the other three, can you then delete the rogue search engine? May not allow you to delete since it's the default.
anyone else able to help?? It's gotten worse, when I pull up google.com to search, I even hit the google search box after typing and it STILL defaults to Yahoo???
Learn what kind of a Mac threat lkysearch is, what methods it uses to infiltrate systems, how it manifests itself, and what to do to get rid of it for good.

Thanks for that link, I have seen similar articles most are selling a service.
A major problem for me is that I do not know what looks 'suspect' or not as I'm not a programmer etc. Can I do harm by force quitting items from Activity Monitor or the other locations that actually belong?? I did find two items in the syst pref>profile section.

Would a certain column in Activity Monitor; user being 'root' or 'my disk name' etc be a clue or helpful?
Thank YOU! I went thru the steps in the article, sorting by date and deleted quite a few items and it worked for now! At the bottom I see a download link for Combo Cleaner but I'm hesitant to download..Has anyone used it??

You are very welcome. I would suggest that you be careful about what you download on to your computer. What you just removed is malware and it comes from downloading software from unknown verified websites.
