Search extremely spotty

In 9.0 GM as well as 9.1 beta 1, search is extremely spotty for me. For example, searching for "Ema" returns random contacts with email ("ema" is in "email") address but not my friend Ema (a local variant of the name with single M). Also, from all the people with same first name, it like never returns people I actually interact with. It's almost like Proactive trying to spite me 🙂

This is a DFU restore of 9.1, I tried Reset preferences and rebooting, but it has never been solid for me. Also, iCloud documents are never shown as well.

Anyone else experience this?

I had troubles with it too when I was using it. For example, searching for my local team scores didn't reveal anything except a web link. It isn't like they are obscure either, currently at the top of the premier league.

That used to be my go-to way to open a contact. Now, I dont get any contacts as search results (only related emails, appointments, etc).

One way to get around the Ema giving you Email hits, or friends with the same first name is to add nicknames to specific people and then search by that nickname.
