Search Messages - Doesn't Take Me To Exact Text Message?

Hi,

When I search my messages I see the text that I'm looking for but then when I click the message it doesn't take me to that exact text message that I was searching for. I still end up having to scroll back up to find the message.

When you search for a message shouldn't you be taken to the exact spot of that text message when it finds the text you were looking for?

Yes, I believe that is how it should work.

If you clear your texts or iMessages out and then start a new thread as a test, then use the search to find a word in it. You'll notice the actual message itself which contains the word is VERY faintly highlighted.

However, if you have a text thread long enough to give you the "more" option at the top which requires loading old texts, the search feature NEVER works for me in terms of actually pointing you to the actual message you're looking for. You have to manually load all the old messages and scroll up and basically find it yourself.

This has never worked properly for me and has always driven me crazy.

Oh ok, I thought it was just an issue with my phone. Apple definitely needs to fix this because it's a pain to have to scroll all the way up to find the text.

I don't get what the point of the search is showing the grey text once it finds it and then when you click on it you still have to keep searching for it in the actual text...pointless.

This has never worked properly for me, even on the older iOS versions. I can't remember when it became a feature (iOS 5 or 6 maybe?) but it's never worked properly.

Been like this for a long time. It'll probably be a new feature in one of upcoming major iOS releases.
