Search not working in Youtube app after tvOS 26

I have an Apple TV HD that I updated to tvOS 26 and it seems it broke the search function on the YouTube app. When I select a video to play from the YouTube search results, the app freezes and I have to force quite. I've tried restarting the Apple TV and reinstalling the YouTube app but it continues to happen. I also don't have issues playing videos from any other part of the app.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I just noticed that I'm also having the same problem on my AppleTV HD. Can't find any solutions yet.

Yes. It was working previously.

I discovered a workaround. Click and hold the select button on your remote and select play from the menu, the video should play. Hope it works for you
